The Yellow Cat by Michael Joseph

The tale involves mystery, a supernatural bargain, and a gripping atmosphere of suspense, with Sir Robert facing both personal struggles and eerie fate.

The Blood Drips is a short horror story by British writer Dick Donovan, who wrote under the pseudonym James Edward Preston Muddock. First published in 1889 the story centers on an old, dilapidated house haunted by a mysterious and terrifying phenomenon of —blood dripping from the ceilings. Mr. Minton, a man who moves into a seemingly ordinary house, only to be plagued by a persistent, unsettling drip of red fluid from the ceilings. Despite thorough investigations by him and a builder, no source is found. The dripping continues, affecting all occupants, causing fear and unease.
Brickett Bottom is a short ghost story by Amyas Northcote, first published in his 1921. The story follows Reverend Arthur Maydew and his two daughters, Alice and Maggie, who spend a summer holiday in the remote village of Overbury. While walking home one evening, Alice spots a mysterious, old-fashioned red brick house in Brickett Bottom, a secluded glen, which neither her sister nor anyone else can see. Despite her sister’s injury preventing a joint visit, Alice goes alone to explore the house and its apparent occupants —an elderly couple, Colonel Paxton and his wife. After visiting them and being invited for tea, Alice disappears without a trace.

The Avenging Phonograph by E.R. (Ernest Robertson) Punshon was first published in 1907. He is the author of the detective novels featuring police constable Bobby Owen. In this short story, the main character is the mayor of a small town who has committed murder and who is greatly relieved when the coroner’s jury brings in a verdict of suicide. Suddenly the mayor develops an undeniable compulsion to tell someone — anyone! — that he did it. That he was the killer. He eases his compulsion by buying a recording phonograph. The Archer in the Arras by Lewis Spence was published in 1932. He was a Scottish writer and occultist who was a Presider of the Ancient Druid Order.
